Mission and objectives The United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) supports the UN Resident Coordinator (RC) in Indonesia. As designated representative of the UN Secretary-General, RC leads and strategically positions the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) in support of national priorities, development strategies, and plans. RCO coordinates activities related to common programming of UN in Indonesia. The support includes strategic planning, programme and operations management, policy guidance, data management and results reporting as well as knowledge management, advocacy, and communications – all seeking to enhance UN coherence and improve overall programme impact to better achieve development results. Under the leadership of the RC, the RCO is also implementing a wide range of initiatives to make the Leaving No-One Behind (LNOB) concept concrete and tangible, especially in the areas of youth, gender and disability inclusion.

In addition, RCO support the mobilization of UN Volunteers in Indonesia. In 2022, 117 Volunteers deployed in 14 cities. Through this assignment, RCO is seeking the support of online volunteer in editorial support that includes reviewing and providing feedback on the draft stories, in close coordination with the RCO's Volunteerism Mainstreaming Officer.
